What if the earth was colourless? Or what if we were colour blind? I cannot even imagine a life without colours! The plant kingdom with leaves of various hues and tints and shades, the earth that varies in colour from pale yellow to red to brown to black, the blue sky, the snowy clouds, the sun, the moon, colourful birds & animals add cheer to our life!
Spring is the colourful season that symbolises a new beginning. In Bharathavarsha, especially in the northern part, Holi is celebrated on every Phalguna Purnima as the victory of good over evil, end of winter and the arrival of spring. Holi is also known as Kamadahana or the day Manmatha was destroyed by Lord Shiva. Since Manmatha tried to wake up Lord Shiva for a good deed of inducing love between Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, the Lord blessed him saying that Manmatha would be remembered on the same day as Kamadahana or holi. That’s why it is said to be the festival of love.
May This Holi Spread Love And Only Love!
